Secret Invasion's only fault was that it didn't look like Disney wanted to put much time and money into it. I liked it, solid 7/10.

My only notes were I wanted more of it. More of why Talos and Fury were slightly combative, more of Gravik and Fury playing up a secret war, more of Fury and the MI6 lady playing king of the hill with who would stop the Skrulls, more context to Talos and his daughter and why they didn't get along.

I didn't even hate the ending, it just needed more context with more stakes for why the President wanted to do a zero tolerance alien policy (especially given that the Asgardians are on Earth and relatively peaceful, Thor is a top tier Avenger, etc.).

What we did get was good though. People who wanted comic book Secret Invasion were always going to be disappointed, one of the bigger through lines of the MCU is a more grounded setting and beyond that for the logistics side of it they would have had to put in the ground work for Gravik and the Skrulls to be the next big bad and after opening up the MCU so wide to limit all the goings on to Earth heroes would have cut off a lot of fun series in the larger franchise.

For things that worked, we got Fury dealing with getting along in years and at the same time post snap (i'm never calling it blip, worst part of spiderman was establishing that) all the larger things he's been doing out of fear that the avengers would never be enough. We got to see what he was fighting so hard for.

We get a larger look at the more human side of the MCU that we got snippets of with Winter Soldier/Falcon, the geopolitical landscape and such. Feels like if there was any cohesive plot to current phase it'd be how much plotting and scheming was going on behind the scenes of the world we were introduced to with the Avengers. The Red Room, the Ten Rings, the Eternals, and now the Skrulls all working behind the surface level tapestry we were shown in the first 3 phases.

The actors were phenomenal, the story worked, the scale and stakes were appropriate for a mini series. We got some fun promises of Gi'ah being part of the bigger world as the/a Super Skrull and Fury dealing in space politics with at least the Skrulls and the Kree.
