We visit the home of one of our subscribers as he prepares to have his own 4 Powerwall battery system installed on his existing solar PV array.

If you are interested in solar, I would highly recommend you contact SunWorks using this promotional link. Mention the Energy Sovereignty Project and see what they can do for you.

You obviously didn't text to confirm wardrobe choice beforehand, or perhaps you did! Good update, thanks for sharing.

No incentives in the UK for retro fitting battery storage and Tesla costs £6000 plus fitting and difficult to get. One company quoted over 12 wait for Tesla powerwall. We are also limited to the number of solar panels we can fit, I think a max of 5 kW generation.

Great to see a system upgrade. I have wondered about this as 2.6kw portion I used surplus SunPower 327 watt panels and wondered how long it would last

Hi I started watching your channel last week and have watched all of your videos in the last week lol... anyways got 2 things I've got to bring to the table and see your opinion.
Point 1
what do you think of a way to discharging a ev back into a powerwall or house. So potentially if you happened to over charge you could possibly draw some power back.
Or in some cases like me I'm only hitting somewhere in the 14kw a day so could possibly tick me over the peak price time by running home off ev power?... like i said not sure if this would work but thought it sounds a cool thing that could maybe work. I'm guessing with your background you can tell me right off bat if its possible or viable.

Point 2
Would it be possible to make a mini hydro plant for your home. Eg have say mini hydro turbines in drain pipes so as it rains you can still generate electricity and then go one further and maybe have a water pump and water tank up high to then pump water back up and use it again down going back down turn turbines again endlessly if no sun/ low production day.
Ps sorry for the long ass message.
Thanks
Scott

In San Diego - Tesla just informed me my 2 Powerwalls are not eligible for the Self-Generation Incentive Program "SGIP" due to Tesla reaching their "developer cap" with the program. This is with SDGE.

I have one important question: why do you have the same shirt? Or did I just notice it?

Hey I am up just east of Chico and we were in the area of the Camp Fire but our house was spared but one neighbor did lose their home. Currently we have no solar but were looking at propane backup generators most because of planned wildfire power outages but I am now considering a dual or even three Powerwall setup. I have been doing a lot of research on incentives. What worries me about the SGIP is with Tesla firmware and app can we take this incentive and still be able to get the batteries to work for a decently extended outage like 48hours. Especially since I am not sure we can install much solar because of a lot of trees and shade which we don’t really want to remove. Also also if we consider using ITC that adds even more restrictions. Unless I am wrong it seems even if you take zero incentives that Tesla firmware seems to work like you have? I mean I would love to get some of the benefits of time shifting and solar generation but the main goal is being prepared for outages. We don’t have natural gas but propane for heat and hot water but we are willing to live without big loads like AC, electric oven, range and dryer but we do need to pump household water.during outages. I know this is long comment but I am very very open to advice. Thanks!!

IT would be really nice to see what you hav eto do on your roof to get your panels clean, because like your, mine are 22 feet up on the roof.

Here in NC, you don't get an Install date. They won't install them here because they don't have enough batteries.

Been following since the beginning of the year, but first time commenting after seeing this one and another noting around 4600 per installed powerwall - I’m assuming the price point is predicated on federal ITC + SGIP... Do you know of any installers who still have stock of SGIP Powerwalls, or a way find an aggregate list other than brute force calling?
