Im not defending her but Jezebel definitely suffered some form of sadistic abuse as a young person. I mean her people literally worshipped depraved sex gods, her own father was a priest of the hermaphrodite goddess Astarte! And the phonecians pimped out their young daughters in the temples as "honor" to Astarte and Baal. Plus the child sacrifices! God gave her enough time to repent, he lets us know that our upbringing, no matter how bad, shouldn't define us.
