Japan is definitely not a vegan friendly country. You have a tough time in Japan finding a vegan restaurant even in Tokyo.
most of rubbish bins were removed as one of counter measures against terrorist attack which had occurred in 1995.
you can find rubbish bins in front of convenience stores.
