Prof. Mollick will discuss the ways in which AI-required classes can help make instructors more effective while saving time and effort, and what students learn when AI is mandatory. The talk will also touch on the larger changes AI is making in the world of work, and how that might impact the future of students, educators, and EdTech.

3. What are some ground rules about what AI will look like in classrooms in the near future?
- AI will be undetectable, ubiquitous, and transformative.
- Undetectable in that it is impossible to detect AI plagiarism in the long term.
- Ubiquitous in that AI is available to over a billion people right now, and the same tools are available to everyone regardless of wealth.

5. What are some challenges that need to be addressed when using AI in education?
- There are ethical concerns around plagiarism and the role of AI in the learning process.
- There is also a need to ensure that AI is used in a way that does not widen existing inequalities in education.

2. How is AI affecting the future of jobs?
- AI is showing 20 to 80 percent performance improvements at white-collar tasks, but we don't know how this will change the nature of jobs or whether people will do more work.
- The future of jobs two to three years out is uncertain.

3. How is AI transforming education?
- AI is making education better and more effective, and there are tools that will help with this.
- There will still be a need for classrooms in the medium term.

4. What are some levels of adjustment we can make to deal with the changes brought about by AI?
- The first level is to expect more from students, such as using AI for everything.
- Embracing AI is powerful and can completely change the way a class works.

5. What is the impact of AI on testing?
- AI is changing the way we think of testing, as it is passing exams that were previously only passed by humans.
- The impact of this on education and society is uncertain, but it is something we need to grapple with.

1. What was the focus of the class mentioned in the transcript?
- The class focused on designing new products and creating early prototypes, building the product using laser cutters, creating a working app, and developing marketing materials and graphics.

2. What is the first change the speaker thinks can be made to improve learning outcomes?
- The first change is to increase the standards of what can be accomplished in a grade and with students, and to unleash their potential to see what they can achieve.

3. What is the second change the speaker suggests for better pedagogy?
- The second change is to implement more effective teaching techniques that are aligned with the science of teaching, such as low-stakes testing, interleaving, and customized explanations using AI technology.

4. How can AI be used to improve pedagogy?
- AI technology can be used to create customized explanations, generate testing materials, and implement complex pedagogical approaches that are more effective and aligned with the science of teaching.

5. What are some of the benefits of using low-stakes testing in teaching?
- Low-stakes testing can help increase students' ability to recall related facts, improve their mental processing and learning, and provide valuable feedback and assessment of their progress.

I like when he said don't allow anyone sell you prompt engineering course. He said there is no magic formula.

He just said AI should be available to everybody, everywhere. AI has to be free for this to happen

He asks we teachers to start using AI. Adapt it. Adjust to it. Try it yourself. Examples chatgpt for every class you take. Figure everything out

It appears insensitive and dismissive to claim that 'rich people have no better access than if you don't have a lot of money.' The reality is that destitute individuals worldwide often lack access to computers and the internet. It is widely agreed upon by the pioneers of these technologies that if not directed appropriately, AI has the potential to deepen global economic disparities and further impoverish those who are already marginalized.
