Download the 5 Element Quick Guide eBook:

The ancient Daoist/Taoist traditions studied the impact of the 5 elements in nature including Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal and the energetic quality to each Element and season. In this video, I discuss the Water Element personality type as part of holism and the Chinese 5 Element Theory. Often referred to as the "Philosopher" and "Sage," I'll explain the depth behind the Water Element's energy.

Our "Element Type" is like our imprint or blueprint when we're born. Even though we all have 5 Element types within us as they are all interconnected and interdependent , one or two show as more dominant in us since birth. The 5 Elements reflect how we move throughout the world, how we individually react under stress, and reveal pieces of our personality and traits which can help guide us to inner peace and harmony in life. The 5 Elements are an extension of the ancient yin yang balance principle.

My nephew was born on October 1st, 2022 and he is a Water Tiger (Chinese astrology). I accessed this video to learn more about his chief element.

I’m a Leo but I resonate with water. It’s the base of life for a lot of things. Even before we’re born, we’re stuck in a womb full of water.

Hi jen, I think you did a very good job on this video. I see a lot of people are getting astrology ( Babylonian) mixed up with the five elements of Chinese medicine. To accurately determine your element, the day Master is really the best indicator. And there are calculators and charts out there to figure this out. I thought for the longest time that I was metal because of the year I was born in, but that is our external self that others see. The day Master is our true self and I have had water Element diseases in my life, but never metal element diseases. I found that my day element is yang water. All of my friends that I get along with philosophically and am able to have deep conversations with happened to be yang water day Master as well. Thanks again for this awesome in-depth video

You are spot on with this video. I am water dominant. Sun, moon (pisces) and rising mercury and mars. I am always tired. I was born with large hips, darker skin on the face, and everything surrounds water or lack there of. If i don't drink enough, there is an issue. Very intuitive and anticipatory anxiety (fears).

"Transforming fear into wisdom" had to pause the video and reflect on that for like 5 minutes before continuing🤣 That stopped me in my tracks for sure. So accurate and so succinct. Although, i assume there's a commonality between most men being yang types and most women being yin types. What does it suggest about the opposite? Since im the MOST yin type im curious what this means.

Just found out I'm water dominant. I got 8 in total. 7 in fire 7 in air and 5 in earth. I would say that is pretty darn balanced other then the sensitivity and the pyshic attacks I would say i do alright . The wild galactic dreams and flying to other planets lol but other then that ya . I'm a yoga teacher now so it balances me to meditate ❤

Here is some of my annotation while listening, most are from recently self-diagnosed my water-like personality:

Because water is shapeless, it tends to not have a fixed personality, ever changing to circumstances and people they associate with. But if we think it this way, THIS IS their personality, think it like adaption, taking, integrating, amalgamating, reforming, refining and recalibrating.
But considering the duality nature of this weakness, it has better adaptability that it ever thinks, because of the dominating fear,
Mysterious, secretive, not easily noticeable, though ever-presently available,
Hidden, thoughts like depth of the ocean, mysteriously undiscovered,
Unthinkable of

Underrated
But like to show they’re in position of power, to compensate overcautiousness and fearful nature
(O) could that be the other non-dominant element that one possess to counterbalance the dominant one?
Kidney, water regulation, and regulator of other as well,
Adrenal
Horizontal
Lie down
Darkness
The Most Yin

Sadness?
Loneliness?
Winter
Rest
Recharge
Not as energetic,
Slow and Calm?

Resting is crucial
Hardly be hard worker, as energy depleted quite faster, left fatigue
But when they’re at peak performance, it quite be phenomenal,

(O) Wisdom: quote and words lover
Mysterious eyes
Hardly predictable, not too unpredictable,
Lover of darker colour, dislike vibrant, light and warm colour, think it like winter,
dark, associated with being in room, introverted,

Syncing to flow state, be as passive, this water-type personality bearer can perform the best,
Introspection, the most yin, about going inside,
Monotones, basal, not much fluctuation of the voice,
Transforming fear to wisdom,
Intuitive but not noticeable,

They observe a lot,
How people used to do it,
Even they are doing it right, still, they wanna see others

(O) less confidence,
But sometimes they can going too deep,
Frozen in their own thoughts,
Between stagnant and flow, water could be both, it’s situational and conditional,
Thinking deep and very philosophical,

They need to learn trusting themselves, it don’t happens naturally as other people,
Eagerness of sharing their wisdom, as water is the source, they like becoming the source to others, contributory,
They like water, like themselves :)

Water,
Winter,
Darkness,
Darker,
Colder,

It’s like there is deep emotions associated with winter, in particular,
Of all season which are preferable to us and which we averse the most, the is dominancy of these to us,
Conservation of energy very crucial for them, as water evaporates,
They have it deeper and stronger but it’s limited,
They dislike same tedious and mundane works,
Like to do it differently every time,

Water will just flow, they detest being forced, like pressurised water will break things out,
As a source they’re symbolising, the embracing nature of water, the ubiquitousness of it, the ever-found everywhere,
They averse adaptations though they’re considerably good at it,
But they anyhow need companionship to preserve their sanity,
Because of too self-isolated nature, it’s connected to the fear,

They’re easily swayed? Taken advantage of? Because of their fragile adaptability,
They like complexity and intricacy though they appear simple,
