Great review, Tommy! Indeed, an iconic aircraft. My favourite schemes were some of the Syrian and Egyptian.

The "Red 5017" is in the Osprey "MIg-21 Aces of the Vietnam War" cover, Sptember 11, 1972, Le Thanh Dao shot down a USAF F-4E, cnfirmed in the US records.

Can’t understand why manufacturers don’t wrap each individual sprue in the thin sheet foam!
Would save a lot of heartache.
Cramming them in one bag on top of each other, asking for trouble!
I’d be willing to pay a few extra quid, just to avoid the frustration of having to repair or replace damaged parts.

Not a single reference photo of vietnameze Mig21 showed any stencils at all.

Stencils! You don’t fly the mig, you read it!

Personally I love Eduard. I think they are the next best thing after Tamiya and actually are superior to Tamiya when it comes to surface detail. They older tooled aircraft can be quite tricky but new tool after 2007 are fantastic. I think they BF109 G is superior to Tamiya, it's not as easy to build still very manageable.
