Jackie Evancho singing from heaven 'Pie Jesu" . Once again this little angel is showing to the world that she is a natural opera singer. She has earned a position in history as the most pleasant voice to listen. Yes, Maria Callas and Sarah Brightman dominates the higher notes but Jackie is the master in the lower range. Pie (the vocative of the word pius) is conventionally translated as "sweet", but normally means "dutiful", "godly", "faithful", or "kind".[2]
Requiem (accusative of requies) is often translated as "peace", although that would be pacem, as in "Dona nobis pacem" ("Give us peace"). A more faithful translation of requiem would be "rest", as in "Requiem aeternam dona eis" ("Grant them eternal rest"). At the end is the word sempiternam ("sempiternal", a graded expression of aeternam, "eternal"), making it to dona eis requiem sempiternam ("grant them sempiternal rest").

The Andrew Lloyd Webber version combines the text of the Pie Jesu with that of the version of the Agnus Dei formerly appointed to be used at Requiem masses:

She has fast become my favorite opera singer. Pie Jesu is one of my favorite pieces and I held my breath until she hit that first note and knew.. just knew. She is destined for stardom.

She is spectacular and I hope I am wrong. I have a gut feeling that either Prince Poppycock or Michael Grosso will win. Grosso is a fantastic magician and can carry a show. Poppycock is Liberace reincarnated. I just hope that wrong Jackie is great but we saw last year when the inferior talent won.

I can enjoy just about anything else. I can appreciate the quality of a good set of lungs regardless of the style though and this kid is great even though I don't like the style of music. I think it's a complement to her talent that I say so....it sure is meant to be...you think whatever you want. Why you think I would care puzzles me but knock yourself out.
