What Non-Car People Don't Get -

This is a short little shrine I made for the love of our passion. What drives us mentally, to reach further. People don't understand why we love cars so much. Cars are the glue that brings all people together. Through cars, and through peoples relations with cars, the community of fellow enthusiasts becomes a safe haven. There's no voice better than Jeremy Clarkson's to introduce this. The clip is from a documentary called 'Love the Beast'. I hope you enjoy.

Disclaimer: None of the footage in this video was filmed by me, and the music also does not belong to me. I collected and clipped from various YouTube videos, and put them together. I used some separate audio files of cars to play over some clips, if they're slightly out of sync; I apologise.

Personally, I’m not super into JDM cars, but as a car guy, I can respect the time and effort that goes into some of those builds. No one car group is better than the other, they’re all valid

I'll have to disagree with what Clarkson said about the Toyota Corolla. Any car you think is really cool for you and you're very much a car-crazy person, whether it's an old Corolla, a '97 RX-7 or a classic Ferrari, if you believe your car has potential, you're good to go.

The most precious thing for a car guy, is the connection between us and cars, even a corolla. It's hard to describe, but once you feel it, you will realise how amazing it is

I'm by no means a car guy, but everytime me and my 17 year old Acura complete a long trip, I thank her for getting me where I wanted to go. We've been through so much together. I take better care of her than me sometimes 😅

For me Cars are the extension of a persons characteristics how a person uses or takes care of it
others call it a passion a art that you can express by driving and designing it

There's something very wonderful about the fact that there's so many of us in such a big, worldwide community that all love the same thing. You don't get that in sports because everyone mostly supports their own team. But take pretty much any car guy and they'll be able to appreciate pretty much any enthusiasts car, be it classic, modern, jdm etc, we all stand together.

Cars are the reason im a car mechanic apprentice. Understanding them understanding how they work. Understanding how to make a living by working with them. They are machines at the end of the day but lively ones. With some where special ones that have managed to go down in the big history books.
And its what they do and how they do it that never fails to put a smile on my face.

What Clarkson said is so damn relatable at 0:21. And tbh it doesn’t even need to be a sports car or a muscle car or whatever you want. My mom is planning on selling her 06’ Honda Pilot in June. She bought it a month before I was born, and I’ve lived my whole life in it. Whether it was my cousins and me in the 3rd row vibing and listening to nostalgic songs back in the 2010s, or the many road trips we’ve went on. And even the 2 accidents we’ve had in the cars 14 years of life. I hope when we sell it it goes to a new owner who can take care of it like we did, and can start a new chapter for it and have more memories with it. It’s currently standing strong at 161k miles. I’ll update this on what car we get and what happens in June! ✌️🚙🚗🏎

I agree, honestly, I feel even corollas, they are underappreciated workhorses, like the blue collar people in the world, I got my first vehicle used, and the previous owner was rough, so I am trying to do right by my truck by actually taking care of it.

"You can develop a relationship with your car"

Nicely said, I'm in love with the Honda Civic Type R, I don't own one but I would love to in the near future

Cars do have a personality though. You can get into two cars of the same make, model, and year, and they won't be exactly the same. How they are driven, where they are driven, how they are maintained, and several other similar factors will all have a subtle impact on a car that you won't notice and become familiar with until you have been driving it extensively for some time. You could say that every car has its own quirks and drivers will form a unique bond with their car just as the video has described as they become familiar with their car's unique quirks.

Just like how Takumi got more depressed over his AE86s engine blowing up than his girlfriend cheating on him, ah yes.

0:10 "People like you or I know we have an unshakeable belief that cars are living entities... well well not Toyota corolla obviously" Yo that caught me completely off guard

Moral of the story:
Love whatever car you wanna love, i personally love lemons such as the Suzuki Bolan, AMC Gremlin, ZAZ 968A, Skoda 110, FSO Polonez, Alfa Romeo Arna, ECT... those types of cars are widely hated for being horrendous and unreliable.
The more people hate 'em, the more i love 'em!

0:23 that is sooo true. I have a major connection with my mom’s old car. My mom could have died that day if it wasn’t for the airbags and the safety rating on the car. She got hit when she turned left on a yellow signal with another person going 80 (he was going 20 over) while running a red light

It's amazing how a speech that you heard once from a game that came out 13 years ago still has such an impact
