Thanks for your comments. I think I would even argue that the graphing aspect of symmetry is even more important. If they understand the graphical approach, I think the better understand the algebraic technique without just memorizing it with no understanding of why.

Very well organized presentation. It really is important to demonstrate, both visually and algebraically, the concept of symmetry.
Often, too many instructors disregard the use of the graphing calculator an so the visual portion of the lesson is lost. A MULTITUDE of students have little or no idea what is happening when solving algebraically, even though they MAY obtain a correct answer. These same students "crawl" into a CALC I class and are essentially doomed.

this seriously helped thank you so much. one question, when you had stated and explained the symmetry over the origin, you said "if we can rotate the graph to anything less than one full turn, but then you only did a 180 degree turn. it had made me think if you rotated it at a 90 degree turn or a 270 it would work. please clarify that it is ONLY a 180 degree turn that verifies if the function is symettrical over the origin. thank you

why do you multiply by -1 in origin symmetry but none of the others?
