DIY PALLET DECK for under $300!!! #deck #diy #woodworking

Here’s a video of the 12x12 DIY pallet deck I built. It took a little over 2 days to build. The cost was under $300. It may not last forever, but I’m confident it’ll last at least 5 or more years. BEFORE ANYONE STARTS COMMENTING…YES, IM AWARE OSB DOESN’T LAST FOREVER AND IT WILL EVENTUALLY ROT….but for under $300 it’ll do it’s job long enough for my liking. We do plan to stain the deck eventually. I realized I made an editing mistake at 14:57….it’s supposed to say “screw everything down”
Referring the OSB boards I was cutting.

Here is the breakdown of the costs:

-12 pallets from FB marketplace $46.00

- 6 sheets OSB from Lowe’s and 2 boxes of 2 inch decking screws $98.00 (w/ military discount)

-74 fence pallets from Lowe’s $151.00 (w/ military discount)

I already had some of the stuff I needed such as the pavers for foundation, the weed barrier, scrap wood for the cribbing, the saws and other tools needed for the job. Depending on what you have your end price could obviously differ. Thanks for watching, feel free to comment and ask questions! Don’t forget to like and subscribe!!

Hi just wanted to to say I love the idea of this pallet deck but was wondering if instead of the wood planks on top of the plywood I could use deck tiles???!

They make things so outrageously high thanks for this. I love re-purposing everything.

not sure what why you added the osb plywood ontop of the pallets, you did allow anyroom for the water to go anywhere, which means that osb will rot sooner. You could of just taped the top of the pallets then used proper decking boards right on top of it

Really amazing job sir! Looks absolutely spot on ☺ diagonally laying thr boards seems to of made that space look even bigger. Very cool.

It looks really good. The only thing I would be concerned about is drainage and rot. I see you floated the base, but without gravel and airflow, is there any concern of water retention? Also, the panels provide stability but there again I think I would worry about swelling and rot. I might be thinking wrong on those issues and it's really not a criticism. Just wondering if those are things that could happen. Would love some feedback because it really looks great and makes me think about doing something similar.

Good Idea but the rain is going to destroy that OSB board, get more pallets take them apart and use the slats for flooring will be stronger, use water treatment also.

This is so damn cool!!! I want to make something like this (I have NO skills, but I want to try!) for my little outdoor gym setup.

Do you know how many kilos a deck like this would hold? I know palettes are strong but i would assume my equipment (i dont have a lot) would be 250-300 kilos.

did you run those boards through a planer? or were they smooth when you got them or just decided to leave them kinda rough?

next time put gravel over the screen/tarp before the pallets.
