I have a Turbotorch MAPP gas torch. It works great for soldering, desoldering and general heating. I also use it with propane on smaller diameter pipes.

I've got a bernzomatic TS8000 which accidentally got left in the back of a pickup truck, outside, for over a year. It still works just fine. I was impressed.

Good test is dropping the torch from 6-7 stories high. Than if it survives put it in the truck.

I had the same turbo torch, and the ignition broke on it. I also had some Goss torches, not a big fan. My favorite one is the turbo torch. Without the ignitor, i always keep the striker with my solder bag and keep a back up in my van

Just written a review on the Rothburger that has alloy body/screwthread for bottle. The lightest drop has distorted the thread so the bottle won't screw on..and they're v expensive.

You don’t need no damn striker, lighter match anything with flame/spark will make it work 😂 smokers will always have a lighter and there’s always one near you

Is there one with a quick way to stop the gas with the hand that is holding it? Once the solder is taking I'd like to turn off the torch and not worry about it.

Yeah but turbo torch is expensive AF... unless you are using a torch constantly... not worth it.

Ehh. I just bought a 150 dollar HVAC map gas torch
And itsss just as good as my shitty 20 dolar one
