Baglamas with three unison courses - DD aa dd

Показать описание
DD aa dd. This switches the unwound octave below the bass string out for a second, wound string. Making all courses in unison.
I tested this stringing last year when I emulated the Serbo-Croatian prim tamburica (tuned in fifths to C or G with the old Janković system). That’s actually when I recorded this video, too.
Even though this is just one string that is different from the standard setup, it does remind me of the tamburica a lot and also just a little bit of the mandolin - That’s how characteristic the stringing of the bass course is. A friend of mine said I’m hyperfocusing on the details and that it’s not really audible, though.
