Really this is a great video. I wish I had one like this when I started. It took me months to figure out positioning of cymbals and that my bass drum pedal had a clamp that connected to the bass drum hoop. This was a long ass time ago

For the 2-up-1-down configuration, it’s better to get a separate tom stand and put them in front of the snare drum, since you’re facing that direction anyway. That way, you can put your ride cymbal over the bass drum, and you won’t have to twist your spine to reach it.

The only detail this video is missing is when you tighten a drum head, use the drum key to tighten the tension rods in a cris-cross way (similar to tightening a car tire).
