Although she died at an early age, her music will live on forever.

Patsy had that rare gift of enlisting a "cry" in her voice that sweeps the listener into the song....WOW !

You don't have to be a country and western afficionado to simply enjoy a great voice.
Thanks for sharing.

Her voice is beautifully haunting and she makes heartbreak sound like a lullaby ❤ Definitely the most pure and controlled female vocalist EVER and I’ll die on this hill!!! ❤

This was recorded on February 5, 1963, one month to the day before the fatal plane crash on March 5, 1963. "Sweet Dreams" was a cover, the original hit was by the songwriter, Don Gibson which charted twice, the original recording in 1956 and a re-recorded version in 1960. Needless to say, after Patsy recorded the song, it became hers.

Thank you, Nick and Rich. The tone of Patsy's voice is haunting and exquisite at the same time.

This is one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "She's Got You", "Walkin' After Midnight", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love" etc. She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams".

Beautiful voice all done without autotune. Her talent was real.

Patsy had a piercing gorgeous voice definitely one of the greatest singers in music history. I'm listening to music over 60 yrs, this is in my top 5 of most beautiful songs ever. God rest her soul!!! 🙏

The last song she ever sang. A benefit for a DJ in Kansas City, very poor weather, pilot had little experience, actually Dottie West offered her to ride home with them but Patsy wanted to get home to her kids. Crashed into a mountain, no survivors. She had such breath control of her voice, those crescendo's and decrescendo's, glisses and emotion. Never be another.

Patsy is a Icon taken at the age of 30. I discovered patsy decades ago and still find new songs she sang and with youtube new videos as well.

She often used The Jordanaires, who also sang backup for Elvis Presley.

Thanks Nick, another fantastic reaction! Nobody can beat Patsy when it comes to conveying the emotions behind the lyrics. Great comparison with Calum Scott's voice too -- different eras and different genres, but they are both 2 of my favorites.

One of my favorite female singers of all time.

This tune was her swan song, this was her new hit that she preformed in a concert the night she died.

Sometimes a persons path leads. To a short life but one never forgotten. She accomplished more in her short career than some of the modern singers with a thumbnail of her talent. Sweet dreams Patsy. We miss you still.
