Hello John, I have a quick question for you: I've had such a hard time with soldering that I was on the verge of giving up altogether, until I learned something no one had told me previously. It seems that all my disasters may have been down to a common fault that I didn't know was even possible: I was over cooking the solder. The butane torches I'd tried were too powerful and were melting the silver bezel wire, I now use those torches for annealing only, which works really well, and I purchased a smaller torch to do the soldering. I'm very happy to say that, although I still have the odd disaster now and then, I feel really confident in my work. Remember that question I wanted to ask you at the beginning lol? It's this: even though you do a lot of soldering videos, all of which I probably know better than you by now, I wonder if you could do a "What went wrong and why, and how do I fix it?" video please? I devour jewellery videos but you're my favourite instructor and I was very happy to receive your lovely card and badge in the post: an unexpected pleasure which arrived the day I was discharged from hospital and which cheered me up no end. Warmest regards, Lynette.

Buonasera Prof, video molto interessante. È possibile sapere le quantità di acido borico e alcool?
La soluzione di aceto o limone con sale si può usare anche per l'argento? Grazie mille.

The step bezel I bought by mistake is fairly shallow for the cabochon. Do you bend the bezel over the stone or use an epoxy?

But with a transparent, clear stone the stone will appear to have a dark hole- like flaw. That happened to me.
