I have a large-ish trail bike 150 fork/130 rear 27.5 and it’s capable of more than I am. There’s absolutely no point in me having more bike, because I can’t jump much and I’m never going to race. It would cool to have a full enduro bike but absolutely I would never ride hard enough to warrant it.

Love Enduro bikes! I just completed a 2 day XC stage race on my Rocky Mountain Altitude and it went like a rocket...yes the boring climbs were a bit slow, but the bike got me to the top and I had more fun than the rest bombing down the fun, tech downhills 😅

My local terrain is quite mild (southern Michigan, USA) and while we do have a lot of punchy ups/downs, small drops, sidehits, roots, sand, etc., it's all on a reduced scale than what you might expect from a mountainous region. I'm less interested in 'efficiency' and much more interested in traction, cornering, soaking up jumps and FUN. I've essentially turned my 2019 GT Sensor (140/130) into a mini-enduro bike w/ burly wheelset and tires, Saint brakes, platforms, spank vibrocore bar and stem, exactly a 'lightweight' trailbike anymore, but not an Enduro sled either. So many good bikes these days, you can easily shift any bike up or down a class, just by throwing money at it.

This is exactly what I did this past winter. Coming from an All mountain 150/150 27.5 to a WR1 Arrival 170. Best upgrade ever. 🤙🏼

I feel like the different types of bikes are also bleeding into each other. Like some call one bike a light-enduro, the next one calls it an all-mountain, or trail bike. Especially those that are between 140mm and 160mm travel.

I think having a super nice enduro bike is really good as you don’t need to spend a lot of money on different bikes you can just have one overhauled enduro bike and they handle well at my local DH races

Bought a mega this year, it climbs better than my old trail bike, is a beast downhill and I never feel over biked… hands down the best bike I have owned

I had both trail and enduro, enduro is really the swiss knife of mtb. A good climbing enduro or all mountain ( 140 -160 mm ) travel is the best mtb to have

I bought a specialized enduro with flight attendant and it’s just as good as my epic in fast areas and obviously better everywhere else. Love the slack geo for every type of riding even fire roads

As someone that got into MTB with a 120/130 2022 Gaint stance 29er trail bike I'm now looking to upgrade to an Enduro. I would only recommend someone get an Enduro if they are progressing with their riding. Doing big gnarly jumps, big gnarly gaps like "Remy and yoann barelli" It's safe to say I have found the limits of my stance 29er which is the reason I'm looking at getting an Enduro MTB with either 150/160 or 160/170.

The answer to this question is no. These bikes can take really big hits. On most trails they are too much and they make riding boring. I have Canyon Strive and sometimes its almost like riding a motor-cross bike. It takes the fun out of a lot of trails. I'd settle for short travel trail or just a trail bike.

I have a hardtail (stoic) and an enduro. I feel like I can do any kind of riding with these two bikes.

I have a Giant Reign (160 rear, 170 front), and I ride everything with it, from riding the rough stuff in the Peak District to riding cross country, just a bit slower.
Last year I did London to Brighton off road for the British Heart Foundation with no problems, I'm doing it again on my Reign in September🤟

I've got an Intense Tracer 275, but still prefer to ride my old Giant Trance 2007. Smaller wheels makes the bike smaller, so easier to fit in the car, and easier to lift over fences and stiles while exploring, or even throw over your shoulder while crossing rivers, or climbing up the side of mountains over boulder fields etc, that are too steep and long to ride up. 27inch wheels are too big to be practical for exploration. I wish they sold mountain bikes nowadays, proper go anywhere ones not just for 'going fast', seems those days have gone.

Yeah if you feel like it is too much off a bike take it on hard trails. I thought that, my local trails got boring, so took it to Innerleithen all it changed my view on how well I ride, or rather unwell :D

i ride a 150/130, and its perfect for a do it all bike. long rides in the saddle to sending it at the bike park i haven't had any issues and have never felt underbiked. i think there is too much hype on long travel enduros.

I have a Specialized Status 140mm travel, thing sits in a weird category for me. It's definitely a trail bike but its aggressive enough to make gnarly runs feel pretty chill and doesn't seem to mind a launch to the flats. Feels like a mini enduro bike idk haha

Transition Sentinel - bought it a year ago, and don't regret it. Sort of a jack of all trades.
