I have about 425 shares of SCHD and 325 shares of SCHG. I am trying to put $1000/month each for next 25 years to prepare retirement for me and my wife. I have about $200k in combined 401k, and $13000 worth of combined Roth IRA where we invested in SCHD, JEPI, JEPQ, and O. I calculated that this would give us about $394K dividend when i hit 66, only if they stay on growing... i am crossing my fingers.

SCHD was my first investment. I purchased 10 shares to set a small foundation . I'll add a whole share each month and reinvest the dividend. I will add a share of other companies as well.

Got 332 share of SCHD, 48 Voo, and 26 VUG, and 55 QQQ(mainly to see how CC does with 100 shares).😊 I think I like this ETF over VOO.

Hello Ryne great video on SCHD, very good ETF. I noticed you done this on many shorts with different stocks and one thing I wanna note in the video though on the instruction for someone to come up with how much of a stock they would need to produce their annual dividend income for the year. It is true what you said is correct take the number of shares needed and multiply by the current share price. The purpose of the video was explaining to someone with no knowledge to know how much to invest to get the dividend income, so they wouldn’t know the unknown you gave them which is amount of shares needed and wasn’t explained how result came. The formula to come up with would be amount desired which is $1000 divided by annual dividend payment per share which is $2.56. That gives you the shares needed then multiply by current share price. Also one more formula would work and would not need to know number of shares, take the annual dividend desired divided by the current dividend yield. I currently only own reits in my individual, Roth, HSA, and 401k has VGSIAX.

I love SCHD, but it is low-yield. They can make it work to get 5-9% if they add more high-yield dividends. Sadly, they are stuck between a growth ETF or a dividend ETF… but perform poorly in both areas…

I am Canadian so i have been reluctant to buy stocks and funds on US exchanges. I worry about currency related charges. I finally broke down and set up a $100 bi-weekly purchase. I will see how that goes. My other $350 are in VFV, XQQ, and HYLD.
