Much as these thirteen should be honored snd remembered and as disgusting as the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan was this seems to be very political. What about all the others killed iin every war including Afghanistan and those wounded in the withdrawal ? Should they sll be given medals? .Does this not diminish the term “hero” and the Congressional medal? So sad for those service persons snd their families. But wasn’t the purple heart sufficient and couldn’t Congress have honored them without the Congressional gold medal?
