As someone who is into filmmaking and someone who was on the set of the screenshot you used outside... you nailed it. They do everything you did, just with larger equipment. PEOPLE, you don't NEED expensive equipment to get beautiful visuals. It just takes more work with a smaller crew or for yourself. That's the only main difference other than more dynamic range.

I love the shoot and grade idea. Hardly anyone on YouTube shows the whole process. You’re totally right about grading your own footage to match a grade you saw online - doesn’t work unless you shot it to match the footage too.
