A series looking at my all-time favorite albums. This video is dedicated to 2003’s Meteora by Linkin Park.

Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. The band's current lineup comprises vocalist/rhythm guitarist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave Farrell, DJ/keyboardist Joe Hahn and drummer Rob Bourdon, all of whom are founding members. Vocalists Mark Wakefield and Chester Bennington and bassist Kyle Christner are former members of the band.

Meteora is the second studio album by American rock band Linkin Park. It was released on March 25, 2003 through Warner Bros. Records, following Reanimation, a collaboration album which featured remixes of songs included on their 2000 debut studio album Hybrid Theory. The album was produced by the band alongside Don Gilmore. The title Meteora is taken from the Greek Orthodox monasteries originally bearing the name.

“Meteora” and “Hybrid Theory” were nu metal at its finest!

Fun Fact ‘Runaway’ and ‘Easier To Run’ are both the 6th track on their respective albums.

Chester Bennington was the only musician I cried about when they died. He helped me through so many dark days.

"I can't address every little tidbit of information about Linkin Park, because this video would be two hours long" Oh, you mean just like a regular Crash Thompson video ! XD

Easier to Run might be Linkin Park's most underrated song

Shortest review for Collision Course: It makes Jay-Z sound good.

“Lying From You” is personally one of my top five favorite songs of all time. This album was phenomenal.

I remember hearing “Breaking the Habit” on the way home from community college on the alt. rock radio station. I wanna say 2013 or so. By the end of the month, I had this album.

The weirdest thing I ever heard at church was a soft piano version of "The Pirates of the Carribbean" theme song.
No one seemed to have noticed and I wasn't even sure of myself but afterwards I went to the pianist, asked him and he confirmed. That was f'in amazing

"Nobody's Listening" was the song that got me into Linkin Park. I still adore that song. I was introduced to it when a cabinmate at summer camp let me listen to her copy of Meteora. After I got home from camp, Meteora became the second ever rock album I bought.

I met Mike Shinoda near my hometown on Long Island where he was signing and promoting Post Traumatic and I told him that whatever he and the guys decide to do, that me and probably everyone on line, will understand and be behind them 100%

The only reason I can write here in English is because of those guys. I literally learned English because I wanted to know what they were singing about and just like you, I like Meteora more than Hybrid Theory. As in HT I think they were free to create and explore more, I see Meteora, although more contained album, as a more focused CD. Apart maybe from Nobody's Listening, none of the other songs feel dislocated (IN MY OPINION). The main criticism about Meteora is that it sounds like a copy version of HT, and IT IS, the band itself have already admitted that before, however that doesn't take away the fact the album repeats the successful part of the formula, and minimizes the mistakes. My only wish is that, even though I'm a huge fan of the M2M and followers, I just wish they had released a third album with that same vibe. No other band had the same impact those guys had on me and I know this is something simple as music, and they probably I'll never read this, I'll be forever thankful to them because I still remember the first time I've heard their songs and it's a just like Christmas' Eve for me.

Meteora and Hybrid Theory is how you do nu Metal right.

You said it best, man. Meteora was more solid and refined. Seeing you go over it, it did have a bunch of sounds that allowed for experimentation like "Nobody's Listening."

Fun fact- the music video for Numb is the most viewed music video for a song released before 2010.

So my biggest Linkin park memory?

I was going through a tough time, grieving over my mother's death, one of my sister's had kicked me out of home, i was jobless and didn't know what to do with my life.
I had taken a walk and "waiting for the end" came over the radio. And somehow, the song captured everything that I was feeling.
So much so, that i can't listen to it without thinking about what I was going through.
I still love the song, it helped me Express everything when i couldn't.

20 years ago... man, I feel old.
I got into Linkin Park back in high school (...yes, I know...), I remember waiting to go to class in the morning while listening to them on my old CD player (kids, ask your parents). Even now, they're still my all-time favorite band and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
