Ontario to unveil climate change plan without carbon tax

Environment minister says Ontario's plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions will show that fighting climate change doesn't require a carbon tax. The PCs' promised 'emissions-reduction fund' suggests a model similar to one used in Australia.

Zero emissions for transportation is not practical. Electric cars are not the solution. We need carbon neutral liquid fuel. Not electric cars.

i wouldn't pay them. i'd give them a tax break if they fell below a certain amount, depending on the type of industry.
every couple years lower the # so they have to keep reducing their footprint.

There is only one solution for carbon levels and that is the planting of trees. Each tree takes in 48 pounds of CO2 per year. Do the math to what Ontario/Canada produces per year and that is the number of trees required. No carbon price needed.

They don't have the money to pay for anything, both levels of government are running deficits and growing debt. So any program they decide to use will require squeezing money out of the workers and/or industry. Even a large scale tree planting program, which would do more than a carbon tax by miles, would cost as people will need to be paid to do it. Fossil fuel industry should be the ones paying for this.

Can you drive one meter less to go to work if you have to pay carbon tax? Does your vehicle generate one mg less CO2 because you paid tax? Oh yeah, if your employer bankrupts because of more tax, you do not have to pay carbon tax. Emission reduced. Well done JT

But canada has not fased out coal, so there must be another reason if in fact carbon emissions have decreased then again there is a scientific report out this week that canada is warming twice as fast as the rest of the world, if this is not solid evidence the carbon tax is not working what does it mean?

Left wing Right wing doesn't matter the real world is about rich people and poor people. the PC continue to support the rich people day after day with their policies and promised legislation. We waste more money in this country reinventing the politics with the legislation of the party. Build it up tear it down what is left over is only temporary until the election. Corporations will be the end of the any middle class that could of existed.
