I'd say my learning is geared towards discussion.  I learn best when I can talk to the person I am learning from in a back forth sort of way, so for me, docents are a great way to expand my mind.

Really interesting; I know that I don't get the most out of museums or art galleries when I visit because I rush around them, and don't give them the time that they deserve. The longest I have ever stayed in a museum was to the British Museum recently.

I love when you talk about your job and going to museums as it makes me question how I visit them. I usually like to stroll and follow my thoughts and generally am on my own. I feel watched by the Stadt and disturbed by others. Lol. So not a place where I'm social.

are docents and gallery guides more commonly paid or volunteer positions? i have seen a lot of volunteering opportunities for doing this work but it also seems like it requires more skills and knowledge than what a volunteer would be expected to have... and time as well haha
