I was born in April 1944. What a thought it is to me that this awful war was going on. I remember when I was about five years old, leaving church with my father, I was staring at a woman who was holding the hand of her young adult son who seemed dazed and what we would call out of it. My father said “ he was a soldier in World War II. He shell shocked.”

My Grand father was a medic in the navy, was captured by the Germans early on in the war and continued to provide medical aid in his pow camp until liberation I am proud of him as it saved lives and never gave up
