Is your check engine light on? Does your DIM display give the message "Engine System Service Required"? Do you have an ECM-9400 code stored in the vehicle? It sounds like you need a new brake pedal position sensor.

Thanks for the video.... But what I wanted to say, that I actually fixed my sensor... Carefully cut the cylinder (like 5mm from the top), easy disassembled, sprayed with contact cleaning solution. Cleaned the resistors, checked that I have a good contact, and assembled with a tape. Everything works now. And saved 50-70$

The metal clip can be difficult to fit - works best to fit the clip onto the servo boss first and then push the sensor into place. The clip will simply lift and spring into place to retain the sensor.

At about 1.17 there is a sharp intake of air, in to the vacuum of the servo. This could suck in the o ring. So, with engine off, pump the brake pedal a few times to lose the vacuum, before starting work.

This sensor is pretty nasty to replace, because of that tiny metal clip - I like to push where it ends against it to force it out. Placing the sensor back in place also needs a lot of pressure to fully keep it seated while hooking back the spring clip (ask a helper to keep pushing push). This should fix the cruise control issues.

Is it advisable to disconnect the negative battery connection cable prior to doing this work? I did not notice any mention of this in your video and wanted to see if it was even necessary to do so.

Thanks for this video. Can you also please do one showing how to replace the Brake Pressure Sensors on the master cylinder?

Would this sensor cause a brake assist service required?? Or just the engine system service required? because I have both and when I'm in traffic the pedal sinks usually during stop and go but not during continuous travel, so you think this could be it

Mine didn't go in until I moved the O-ring up the shaft by a bit. Don't know why but try that if you have the same problem.

2005 s60 T5… I have engine management service required and brake assist service required… is this what I should be changing first or the stop light switch??

Unfortunately I have no code reader

What else does this sensor do apart from cruise control? I think my old snap ring is already out of shape to securely lock the sensor in place, the sensor keeps popping out with little effort. Will the master cylinder lose vacuum pressure? Sigh.

Off topic. You guys going to carry brake pad and rotor replacement for the 2015-2016 V60 Polestar.

Do you not need to bleed the system after this procedure?

Will this cause Anti-Skid service required message? According to me dealership, this is the culprit.

Do you have an idea of how much it would cost to have this replaced by a mechanic? My '01 S60 is throwing "Engine System Service Required" and code 44, and I've narrowed it down to this. I'm not too keen on messing with it myself.
