The sheer beauty and brilliance of this apocalyptic masterpiece is staggering. Duran Duran have created a haunting yet comforting way for us to confront and accept the end of our own solar system and our transition into oblivion. The crossing between song and the angelic chorus never fails to give me chills. Congratulations Duran Duran for creating one of the greatest pieces of art in the history of the human race.

I was actually listening to the Paper Gods album last night, and I have to say - I believe "Universe Alone" ranks right up there with some of the finest stuff they've ever done. The melody and mood are gorgeous and ominous, and I actually think the synthetic sounding drums work well on this track, because they serve as a metaphor for the cold indifference of the universe. They feel like a cold, steel heart. And the explosion of distortion at the end, followed by desolate chanting, gives me chills! Just breathtaking stuff. On the album proper, the other standouts are "Butterfly Girl" and "Face for Today, " with "What Are the Chances" also being way up there. There are lots of good cuts though, and I give them credit for pushing in new directions while still being who they are. A really good album.

APOCALYPTIC SCI-FI EURO-FUNK!!! This track is a favorite of mine. John and Roger Taylor locked in a fierce tight groove with Nick Rhodes' dark and melancholy keyboard chords and Simon Lebon's trippy lyrics and catchy melody. Is that John Fruciante on guitar? WOW! Blown away. Duran Duran at their finest!

Duran Duran was always about being current or innovating. This album is no different. One of the best album enders I've heard, as if a journey ended in one big last blast. I love it.

This song is so gorgeous. Thank you Duran Duran, your talent, each and every song that you put out there for all of us to enjoy is amazing. You're making this lockdown with this ugly monster virus, Covid-19 a bit easier to accept. Your music takes me to a better place in life than how all of us are living at this time. I love your Radio show Simon and Katy, thank you. XX

fucking awesome what a track .
Northern lights all the way .
This album is fast becoming a favourite now.
An album which you could listen to in 20 years from now.
This punk band is treated so unfairly by the critics.
In a hundred years from know this band will be a huge historical reference point in musical history for all the very clear obvious reasons.
Go guys

The more songs they release the more it is apparent that this is one of the best records of their career.

probably one of the best song in the album. in my opinion they reach some new points they never touched before. great vocals, epic and great frusciante that moves his guitar in the shadow as a young robert fripp
