Standardized tests should be used to grade the school and teachers not the Students. We should teach our children not prepare them to pass a test that is a point in time assessment.

I was conflicted with this. I passed one proficient (math), and the other advanced (english) almost 20 years ago. But I never thought it was fair that other classmates were denied their diplomas when they also spent 4 years in high school. You have to take a SAT or placement test for college anyway, and the others go straight into the work force. I say get rid of it.

Come on, the kids have been dumbed down so much they can't pass it now. Get rid of it and give the teachers a raise. Most colleges now have remedial English classes to get the kids up to 9th and 10th grade levels.

Get rid of this. Think of this. What if you do good in school, but your not a good test taker? Most states don't require a test to graduate.

I voted no. Past the test you get your diploma.

Keep MCAS! Massachusetts has had it for years and is Number 1 in the nation. Alabama doesn’t have this requirement and is #50☹️ Without it, a diploma is worthless 😠 Just have a stack of blank diplomas and on graduation day hand them out to anyone who wants one🤪

I'm a very hard yes. Fuck that test. You learn real life skills later anyway.

Id get rid of it since all US states aren't on the same level. I changed schools in 4th grade and went from A's to a downward spiral of not knowing the material at all.

What they really should eliminate is giving kids the option of quitting school at 16.
