In this episode I explore the most luxurious abandoned hotel in the world.
A 5-star Grand Hotel which opened just 15 years ago and closed it doors again around the end of 2019 due financial difficulties.
Charles and I manage to get inside and get to see how luxurious this place was. This hotel had over 200 guestrooms, an indoor pool, a big spa center, multiple fine dining options and a lot more!

Seeing the roof leaking and water leaks after such a short time being empty isn't surprising. The build quality of most of these big projects is sub-standard with cheap materials used and a lot of corners cut to save money, so they may look high-end and very upmarket, but the durability is low and the subsequent maintenance costs are much higher than projected.

Once the water comes in, it's GAME OVER.

Mind boggling that something so lavish gets built, and so quickly runs out of money and is abandoned.

And it’s so beautiful. Even though it would never happen, places like this always make me think of the potential we have as a species where everyone could enjoy places like this.

Absurd that they just abandoned it! It’s such a beautiful location. Packed with high end materials and items. Your treatment of the location is very respectful and discreet.

What a magnificent place! Such a crime that all that money in decorations and luxury items is just rotting. Thank you for showing us this place! You brought it back to life, even if just for a short time!

Its wild to see such usable things left to die. Even the materials used could be reclaimed to utilize elsewhere.

Thanks Bob, you kept me entertained while in hospital recently.
The swim to the aircraft carrier was something else, very brave.
You could've been eaten by a sea monster.

I hope this can be saved - amazing, it’s also good that there is no shitty vandalism.

I find the Chinese explores fascinating. These cities, hotels, whatever are built and never occupied. Just keeping workers busy.

If this building was nearby, Imma go to the gym all day everyday for free. And the best part is that you'll be alone. 😂

Can you imagine if they had finished this city? It would have been paradise. 🦋✨

I wonder why they don't sell the furniture and light fixtures before the water damage ever happens...

its hard to believe they put that much money into a place and then walk away leaving everything behind

The device at 19:45 is a hydrojet massager. It's basically a kind of waterbed with a high-pressure cleaner in it. You lie on it with your back and are massaged by jets of water that move along your spine, shoulders and legs.
Thanks for the great video - the standard of this hotel is slightly above what I'm used to ;)

The Goldin Metropolitan Scheme was an ambitious project. Pat really invested big in this one, too bad it didn't work out.

What an absolute shame! All this beautiful architecture just rotting away! Surely their going to save those beautiful chandeliers😢😢! The only good about these abandoned buildings is that they created a good income for the people who blood sweat and tears built it!! Hopefully!! A terrible waste but a great explore Bob!!😍😍😍
