Master the Art of Counter Punching Triggering and Executing the Perfect Overhand Right

Many people think that good counter punching is about waiting for the opponent to do something and then doing something yourself. That's wrong. A good counter punching boxer actively triggers the opponent. The effective counter puncher triggers the opponent, either with feints or punches, and then capitalises on the opening. In this video we feint the jab and deliver a powerful over hand right.

If you watch Lomachenko carefully he will create openings in his guard for his opponents to get them to throw the shots he wants them to throw. He will raise his elbow up to invite body shots or lower or open his guard slightly to invite a straight punch or hook to the head. It looks like he’s feinting but if you slow it down you can see the openings. If you notice first couple of rounds he doesn’t throw many punches he just raises and lowers his arms, he’s checking to see if they’ll react to his openings. If they do he knows they will go for the shots he’s giving them and counter them all night. He makes them fight how he wants them to fight which is probably why he’s so successful. He knows what they’re gonna throw before they do.

Could you please tell me the difference between a tight hook and an overhand right? Is it the elbow/shoulder position or both?
Thank you, great video btw ❤💯

Just quick question, do you faint the jab and then throw the right before waiting for the response?

God hates you because to punch hard you gotta throw the glasses off your head.
