I will say that it is a smart move by TPLF for many reasons. Firstly, it needed something positive for its supporters, sponsors and biased media outlets, such as our dear WION. Secondly, Lalibela, although small and strategically insignificant, is a holy sight for Orthodox Ethiopians (it is like Mecca for us) and is bound to attract attention. Thirdly, they knew that if they broke the first barricade far from the town, then as they approach Lalibela, they know that the Ethiopian Army would exit Lalibela to avoid fighting in a holy city. As confirmed by supporters on all sides, the town itself was "captured" without fighting.

What gross exaggeration. Remember lailbela was a holy site for all. Secondly where is your cover of Eritreans with Ethiopian backing destroying mosques and churches with Tigrayan civilians in them!
So sad to see a biased. I hope all tribes of Ethiopia can come together but it will never happen with these types of biased emphasis.
