Combat pvp & flying the Russian mig-29, tutorial and commentary on growling sidewinder server, how to use (a lot of BRA) AWACS and IRST for situational awareness, tracking bandits, sneaking up and reacting fast. The Mig has a winning IRST and EO capability, for air to air (a2a) for bvr the goal is to use it to its advantage the small size of the plane and powerful engines are great, but make sure you drop your tanks before going into a fight where you need to move or the stall will be after you. I was discussing with my friends the strategy I would use if I was a MiG-29 pilot in the bombing of Serbia 1999, it was basically the same strategy that you described in this video. Well made video, everything was greatly explained!

I seem to recall reading somewhere that when the West German air force inherited MiG-29s from East Germany when the Berlin Wall came down, they would operate the MiGs with F-4 Phantoms which acted as Mini AWACS for the MiGs.

Loving the content man.. The MiG has a special place in my heart.. It was the first plane i flew when i got FC3 and for the life of me i cannot land the bloody thing. Right now I'm flying the SU-33 just so that i can get familiar with the datalink and flying and landing lol.. Cant wait to jump back to the MiG

I am so glad to hear it's not just me being bad at landing.
I started out on DCS recently with the Mig-29 and have still never landed it without at least damaging the thing, I thought I was just bad at landing but then found out everyone has trouble with it.

I believe you can quickly toggle Radar on/off to check for the A/AFR symbology to confirm its friendly or not without setting off enemy RWR's when you're prowling around with IRST on.

MiG-29 can be extremely dangerous in PvP air clashes, especially against amraam bearers who just are strolling around high and stuck their heads into their radars. I usually carry on my MiG 2-R-77 (wonderful weapon to shoot from low altitude to high targets) 2 27ET and 2 R-73

Very good tutorial. Btw, landing speed 320 outer and 310 inner marker, 310-300 touchdown, pitch 10 deg and you're good to land

FINALLY! I've been waiting for a mig 29 tutorial. question tho;
the mig 29 IRST can't adjust it's elevation, does that mean its always looking in the direction of your HUD?
