Shania Twain takes a trip down memory lane, sharing the stories behind her iconic music video for Any Man of Mine.

Follow Shania Twain:

Lyrics:
This is what a woman wants
Any man of mine better be proud of me
Even when I'm ugly, he still better love me
And I can be late for a date that's fine
But he better be on time

Any man of mine'll say it fits just right
When last year's dress is just a little too tight
And anything I do or say better be okay
When I have a bad hair day
And if I change my mind
A million times
I want to hear him say
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah, I like it that way
Any man of mine better walk the line
Better show me a teasin' squeezin' pleasin' kinda time
I need a man who knows, how the story goes
He's gotta be a heartbeatin' fire breathin'
Breathtakin' earthquakin' kind
Any man of mine

Well any man of mine better disagree
When I say another woman's lookin' better than me
And when I cook him dinner and I burn it black
He better say, mm, I like it like that, yeah
And if I change my mind
A million times
I want to hear him say
Yeah (yeah), yeah (yeah), yeah I like it that way
Any man of mine better walk the line
Better show me a teasin' squeezin' pleasin' kinda time
I need a man who knows, how the story goes
He's gotta be a heartbeatin' fire breathin'
Breathtakin' earthquakin' kind
Any man of mine

I remember growing up watching this MV on VHS, and then singing along to it at 5 years old at my first concert <3 I think it's my favourite Shania song, honestly. Still such a jam!

I grew up on this song. That's when I fell in love with Shania. Since then I'm a huge fan, I think I was around 5 years old. These are my first memories of my life... watching this music video (and God bless the child) with my dad and sister. We all love yooouuu 🥰❤❤❤

I remember seeing the Any Man Of Mine music video for the first time around 1995. I had no idea who Shania Twain was. I said "Who is this great singer who looks amazing in her Levi's?!!" She still rocks!

That Shania is absolutely beautiful. My first song by her was If You're Not In It For Love, I'm Outta Here. What a song! What a beautiful lady!

I have been listening to your music since I was 14 years old and now I am 44. Thank you for all your inspiring words and getting me through things I never thought possible. Your past was alot like mine. I always have had a connection even though we gave never met. You are an amazing women that through challenges and triumph you raised to the top. Your drive and determination to always be your best. Is what I do every day. It's important in life to never give up no matter where you come from and what you have had to go through. Thank you for being you.

I saw Shania Twain in person at the CNE in 1997. She sang one song acapella and she was absolutely awesome! Even better in person than in the recording. Love her and so proud that she is from Northern Ontario!

OMG DO I EVER. The most important song in my life. When my first son was born, he had a hard time sleeping, and I remember even in the hospital the nurses saying....'this baby has a temper and just wants his momma!". Well, we got home and this baby boy still had a temper...and he always had his mother. lol. He was a terrible sleeper.. Over the next few months after taking him home, like every mother I tried everything to calm him down and have a sleep. Whether it was 2 in the afternoon or 2 in the morning. We tried fans, vacuums, drives, rocking, bouncing, singing, etc. ONE day, I put your CD on, the first song to come on was Any Man of son was having one of his crying fits...AS SOON AS HE HEARD THE FIRST BEAT OF THE SONG he stopped, settled, listened, smiled, and fell asleep. THIS SONG became a staple around the clock at our house for years and years and years, around the clock. IT WAS THE ONLY thing that calmed him down 100% percent of the time without fail. This is the best part of the story as it all eventually made sense: As this boy grew, everything became a drum stick: straws, spoons, pencils, crayons, etc. Eventually we made the typical 'homemade' drums, then purchased his first set when he was 2 1/2, then so on and so on. The boy was born to listen to, enjoy and play rhythm. Music has become his oxygen. When he heard the percussive opening of Any Man of Mine, it was like his soul new he loved music before he knew was music even was. He is now 22 years old, very successful musician in our tiny province of Prince Edward Island. He is on many many recordings and is considered to be on the finest sought after drummers/guitar players on our tiny Island. As a mom, to this day, your song sparks the most precious memories, dancing with my baby boy, in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, at midnight, in the middle of the night. I miss those precious moments dearly. But through the gift of music and your song, I get to relive them in my memory every time I hear it. Thank you so much for a life long cherished memory.
