Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches Verses 38-39 from the third chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. This series of talks unfolds the highest truths of Vedanta through the study of "The song of God".

🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 38:
धूमेनाव्रियते वह्निर्यथादर्शो मलेन च |
यथोल्बेनावृतो गर्भस्तथा तेनेदमावृतम् || 38||
dhūmenāvriyate vahnir yathādarśho malena cha
yatholbenāvṛito garbhas tathā tenedam āvṛitam

🔴Just as fire is obscured by smoke, a mirror by dirt and embryo by the womb, so is knowledge by craving.

🔆Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 3, Verse 39:
आवृतं ज्ञानमेतेन ज्ञानिनो नित्यवैरिणा |
कामरूपेण कौन्तेय दुष्पूरेणानलेन च || 39||
āvṛitaṁ jñānam etena jñānino nitya-vairiṇā
kāma-rūpeṇa kaunteya duṣhpūreṇānalena cha

🔴Knowledge, O son of Kunti, is obscured by this persistent foe of the knower, i.e. by craving, as by an insatiable fire.

@ 20 minutes ...Swamiji answers the oft repeated question about " Krishna encouraging war..." Swamiji counters by saying that Gita is a "Moksha shastra " Thank you for further elucidations so required as so often we fail to recognise this fact and are at loss to explain it to sincere seekers ....in his words " it's a manual for spiritual life hence its perennial interest for Hindus" 🙏🏻

I just thought of sharing my view regarding the question asked by Girishji regarding the righteous war. i completely agree with Swamiji that Bhagvad Gita is a Moksha shastra. i think that rather than referring to Bhagvad Gita alone, the person should refer to Mahabharata. The reason is that it shows in great detail what caused the war and how and why people failed to prevent it. If we take lessons from there, we will be able to prevent the wars using the principals outlined in the Bhagvad Gita. Therefore it is very very important to be conscious that Bhagvad Gita was taught in the middle of the battle field. This is my humble view.
thank you,
pranam

भगवत गीता releases you from all problems of life. It's mainly for helping us attain enlightenment but
If one is reading Gita, one should know why he is reading it then the answers to all his questions will be given

15:39 for sadhakas and sadhikas, desire is the enemy. For a moorkha, chasing and satisfying desire is happiness, and when the bad result comes, then feels sorrow. The jnani even while feeling and pursuing desire knows it is not good.
