We bought it for when we have nephews or kids teammates over and it does it job. It's not for long trips for adults obviously. When not needed it folds out of sight and once again you have your storage space. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it in my opinion.

Just ridiculous thinking you can put 7 seats in a Model Y. Just not big enough.

I own a Model Y 7-seater. The third row is incredibly tight and only fits short, thin, bendy folks. When the seats are in the upright position, there is room for maybe 4-5 grocery bags behind. There is no room for large luggage or such cargo. The middle seats will need to be sliding all the way forward to get 4" of leg room to put the third row feet under the middle seats when locked in place and traveling.
So - if you have a large family and cargo needs as well as 5-7 passengers - you will need a hitch hauler or other external means of porting your luggage and such. Just FYI -- this is simply not practical in most cases for larger families. You'd be better off in a bigger crossover, van or SUV.
I bought the 7-seat for the rare occasion that I'd have everyone together. Looking back on it, i would've just gotten the 5-seat and saved the money. For me it's not worth the cost.

"Grande Autonomie" means "Long Range" in French

Curious addition right before the Juniper update

Weird how VW couldn't muster a 3rd row in the SWB BUZZ

2+2+2 layout would create more leg room in the third row. In fact, rumors are that the Juniper will have a 6 seater version for China. Would be nice to also bring that version to Europe.

I think it's a bit on the tight side for rear and middle. Was acceptable a few years ago but with the number of actual 7 seaters now in the market, this is hard to justify anymore as a valid 7 seater. Not really going to move the sales dial for Tesla.
They need to bring the X seven seater back to right hand drive.
Very Tesla at the moment. Noise over substance I am afraid
A one thumbs down from me. At least the option is now available, so not a two thumbs down concept

Any idea when Ireland will get this option?

It's a step in the right direction but I dont think this is the final solution. Hopefully this will get some traction and force the other manufacturers to reduce their 7 seaters.

The legroom looks very restricted. Interesting that VW brought out a new 7 seat version recently with exactly the same problem.

Could we see a another video of the legroom in the rear and legroom between front seats and second row - is it actually useable

Are there any isofix in the third row?

Need to see it, but that tapered rear screen looks like it means kids only really.

In a accident everybody would be squashed into each scary to me especially with kids and all.

I think you needed to sit in the very rear seat and demonstrate how much legroom there is and how much legroom is remaining for the rear seat passengers.
