In this video I start the restoration on a vintage Tamiya Subaru Brat (Kit 58038). As I'll be running the Brat, I changed the old AM radio to modern 2.4Ghz radio and ESC in place of the mechanical speed controller. Also I'm using a Tamiya Sport Tuned motor.
In the next video I'll be doing the body work, repainting the body and applying decals.

Thanks for watching.

Haven't had an rc car for 30 years, just bought a hsp brushless buggy. Ran on 3 cell from my planes batteries and how much fun cars really are. I always wanted a Tamiya when i was a kid but they were expensive so i just scratch built control line planes, radio gear was for millionaires back then. Enjoy watching the rebuilding you do on these cars and ill probably get one after the great fun ive had with the hsp. I was a panel beater and these rc cars are much nicer to build than a real car.

i would like to see these gears in a beetle and the Frog Assembly Universal

just remember that the lipo battery is lighter then a normal u might have to put more weight ok it will stop the hopping around less flip over etc
