Dear Android Makers, iPhone 5s is Getting iOS 12!

Phone 5s, a 5-year old iPhone is getting the latest iOS 12 update and we bet you cannot name an Android phone launched in 2012, 2014 or even 2015 that has received Android Oreo. Yes, Android updates is a big problem and something that needs to be fixed and that's what we are talking about in this video.

I think they are pushing these updates because they are focusing on the markets where they can sell their older gen products and, if you promise them that they will get updates and security patches they will buy the product, it is a win win situation for both customers and for the producers.

Moreover, in a country like india apple's logo matters, not its features may it be 5, 5s, 6, You get it right ?

This is what makes iOS different from android. But still some geeks manage to get latest android version on their 3 or 4 years old android phone. I myself use android oreo on my OPX and Nexus 5 with latest security patch. Thanks to custom rom.

It also annoys me when people say that iPhones are too expensive.
1. The Note 8 was $999.
2. There are a wide variety of Android phones from many different companies which makes them either cheap or expensive.
3. Just buy an older iPhone cause most likely, it can last you a good while. (I still have an iPhone 5s and am happy with it.)

To make Android work on their hardware, device manufacturers (like Samsung, HTC, or Motorola) must write Android device drivers specifically for their phones. These are often closed-source, so they can only be updated by said manufacturer. Google can’t just release a new version of Android that works on all devices—they release the new version, then manufacturers have to go in and tweak it for each of their phones.

The reason Pixel phones get only 3 years of upgrades is because they use processors made from Qualcomm.
When a new android update comes around, certain changes have to be made in the chipset (driver updates) that can only be done by Qualcomm. Qualcomm isn't ready to do that for Google Pixels because if they do it for them, they would need to do it for all other smartphone makers. Therefore Pixels get only 3 years of updates.
Apple on the other hand makes its own processors which they can freely update. Hence the iPhone 5s is able to receive iOS 12.

Thanks for making this video, this needs to be said.
I bought Lenovo K8 Note, Oreo update was promised when it was on sale in Amazon in May.
But users who already have the phone and updated it to Oreo complained that the update has many issues/bugs with it.
So Lenovo stopped the OTA update as of now, and my device is still on 7.1.1
Maybe they will fix all the issues and later there will be a stable release. Atleast K8 Note runs on stock Android.
And awesome camera work! I love how the camera moves slow & smooth towards right when he is talking.
