have a G-Star wraith and it's amazing, grippy and durable, flies great, from a slight hyzer release I get it to flip up nicely, then it rides on a slight anhyzer before it hyzers out at the end... by far my go-to driver...

I flick my star destroyers and backhand my wraiths, destroyers just feel better on the forehand imo

My first disc I fell “in love” with was a champion wraith(burgundy). I could put a move on it and get that nice “S” curve and trust it’s finish. I mean Garrett Gurthie out bombs everyone and he throws a wraith 💣

A lot of the players I see throwing Destroyers shouldn't even be throwing Wraiths, but probably Orc's instead. My maximum distance drivers are Thunderbirds, (1) 175g DX, (1) 168g Pro, (1) 171g G-star, (1) 175g MF champion, (1) 175g star.

I totally agree. The Wraith is a very well rounded disc and you can create all around distance shots.

did you know the "speed" rating is actually "rim width - 10mms?" at least that's how Innova used to define it and other companies have deviated but that's where it started.

for example - 2.1cm is speed 11. 2.2cm is speed 12. 1.9cm is speed 9.

This is a great video. Thanks. I am still working on arm speed and am definitely still forehand dominant in my play as a lefty. I push 270s to 290s on my backhand, and I still struggle putting all the pieces together smoothly to get 300+ plus distance with any kind of regularity on my backhand.

There have been rare occasions on my forehand when I have gotten some discs (usually overstable with a slight anhyser) to carry 320+. This has only ever happened in practice and it is usually anyone's guess which direction the disc is going to take after release.

I play mostly on somewhat shorter courses, so my go-to disc for these situations is the my Wraith at 170 grams. It is easily my most trusted disc for all the reasons you mention. On a hunch I bought a 160 gram Lat. 64 Jade last summer before I flew overseas where I work, and I have been astonished at how far I can throw this disc. I hadn't thought of myself as an overly light disc thrower, but this disc carries wonderfully for me on forehand and is decent on my backhand. I have better control with it as well. The main issue is wind. If it is gusty, the disc gets affected much more than my trusty Wraith.

I only have the Wraiths in my bag in Star plastic, so I am really curious what the Halo might be like.

Anyway, thanks for a great video.

Most need an Orc instead... most can't effectively use faster than a speed 10. Imo

Thank you. literally 90% f the disc golfers out there are better suited for a wraith, or even a fresh sidewinder.

G-star Wraith and Enigma fly very similar. Then the Wave seemed like a slightly more understable wraith. And then the Devy seemed to slide in right in between the G-star wraith and the Halo wraith.
As someone who has yet to ace (I keep chaining out), one of the closest I have gotten in a tournament is with that halo wraith. I was throwing into a headwind onto an island hole. The spotter said that whoever threw the wraith was the closest to acing that she has seen yet. I got lucky too. It was touching OB but was still in. I sunk the 30 foot putt. Oh ya!

I just started disc golf again 3 weeks ago and I can say the wraith is easier but I like the destroyer because I drive forearm and not backhand. The destroyer is just so fun to use I can get 200-300 feet with a max forearm flick.

Im sticking to my guns... destroyers. Lol

I consistently throw my wraith 40 ft further than I do my destroyer. The lighter weight wraiths work great for leaner left to right shots after it's broke in. I throw my wraith way more than my destroyer with better results.

I bet the Wraith is selling because there are so many new people coming into the game with lower arm speed.

I would even say that most of those players would benefit from putting down the Wraith and picking up an Innova Orc which is a 10 speed version of the Wraith/Destroyer

Depends on if it's a paul mcmath or other newer destroyer but if it's a AVERY JENKINS STAR DESTROYER lime green then I would have to disagree

Looks like there are 11 butthurt Destroyer users

Realistically most people should throw a valkyrie. Even as someone who can throw 450ft, discs like the sheriff and other 13 speeds go farther but aren't worth the loss of control. The destroyer in 160-165 even brand new gets decent turn and bombs but has that control.
