My elderly Mother and Father went to their church for many years and gave %10 of their income every Sunday. Long story short, Pastor come to the people one Sunday and says, "I'm asking every one to help pay the rest of the mortgage off the church, $45, 000! Don't you know not long after that he's driving around in a brand new Mercedes of the story, beware of wolves in sheep's clothing!

I went to a church that was very active in the community. They had financial classes, housing classes, tutoring n food giveaways once a week. They also had a senior home n daycare. They're are still some great churches.

These Pastors are not interested in helping people they are there to help themselves.

It was his arrogant, self-entitled attitude and the manner in which he approached asking for that offering! It was insulting!

I remember times when I intentionally wrote a bad check to get groceries, and prayed it wouldn’t hit my account before my paycheck. 99% of the time my paycheck beat the grocery store. I don’t have that issue today, but Lord I remember from whence I came 🙏🏽

When someone I know told me that a church near his house has an ATM machine, I was floored 😮 I’m not knocking anybody’s hustle but the Lord’s house isn’t the place to do it!!!

My husband and I were not members of the church. The pastor came to our house asking why we are not tithing. Talking to us like he from the streets. We never went back.

I heard a minister say: if the pastor is doing well, but the congregation isn’t, there’s something wrong with that!! After I heard that, I judged all churches by it. A few have failed that measurement and I no longer associate with them!

Experienced a similar offering situation at a Pentecostal church 11 years ago. My son was age 8 tired, hungry, annoyed cause we had to stay in church until they collected the money they needed/wanted. We exited church thru the church gym where the pastor had his new Tesla plugged in charging. My son said he could’ve sold his car instead of keeping us here all day.
