I can honestly see them replacing the 4090 with the Super/Ti. This makes for the perfect opportunity to "fix" whatever was causing the melting issues with the 4090's connectors as well as the cracking PCB's and the tearing out of the core for some rare cases. And then they can forget they ever had that fire hazard to begin with.

Man im so excited for next gen gpus. I swear if theres a 5070 thats at least 600-700$ with rtx 4090 levels of power, or maybe just 10-30% less than a 4090 Id still buy that asap.

My guess is they are waiting for the ATX 3.1 PSUs to release before releasing the 4090 refresh because 3.1 fixes the melting connector problem. They probably want them to be paired with as many 3.1 PSUs as possible so that they can finally never hear about another melted connector.

as nice as it seems for some to go for a 4090 super or ti, i’m just not down for it with the 50 series literally within a year or so away. it may seem far off, but when it comes, we’ll have a practically refreshed 4090 super/ti type card or better depending on what AMD has in store. either way, i’m interested.

having a combo like a 5090 with a 32” 4k oled or 39” ultrawide oled sounds amazing!
