This was my first year growing sweet potatoes so not a lot of info to add. I did give mine bone meal a couple of times. I’m in central Arkansas zone 8a. I planted in 20 gallon grow bags and used a tomato cage in each to trellis the vines. I grew my own slips in much the same way using a single grocery store potato. We’re guessing it was Beauregard. From 12 slips, 3 in each bag, we harvested about 25 lbs in a large range of sizes and shapes. I think I will work in some sand next summer to see it that might help them to be a little straighter.

It is my first time on your channel and I have just subscribed. Wow, very nice sweet potato harvest. Thank you so much for sharing. Keep up the good work. All the best on this journey.

Bone meal and a 4-4-4 fertilizer good luck next year, don't give up.

I grew Beauregard, and my biggest tuber was 11lbs! I think because they were in a narrow raised bed they were unable to root out a long the length of the vine, my tubers ended up larger. Just soil mixed with compost, top dressed with chicken compost 4 weeks after planting.
