Section 198 of Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita which replaces the old law i.e. IPC Section 166 #advocate #law

Section 198 of BNS: - If any police officer or public servant disobeys any directions of law and causes any injury to any person shall be punished with one year or fine or both.
The new laws are going to be implemented from 01.07.2024 which replaces the old laws.
Earlier in the Indian Penal Code it was in Chapter 9 of Section 166 and now according to the new law i.e., Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, it has come under Chapter 12 Section 198.
If any policeman beats you or tries to injure you in any way he can be prosecuted in Section 198 of BNS.
The police personnel have no authority to injure anyone or to hit anyone and if any public officer does this to you, you can file a complaint against that person and seek an FIR against him.
