The High Republic I have so far read (in that order): "Light of the Jedi", "The Rising Storm", "The Fallen Star", Into the Dark", Out of the Shadows", "Midnight Horizon". "Path of Deceit" and "Path of Vengeance". I liked them all. Unfortunately "Convergence" dissapointed me. It was not that interesting, though some chapters were, but several times I was confused who was talking to whom: "...he said to her", but who was he and who was she. There were several posibilities. So I had to reread those passages several times. Also, this was one of the shorter books, but still it was one of those I spend the longest time reading. Often I read just half a chapter, and then I put it down. Maybe it was just not interesting enough. Also the story didn't go very far in the overall plot. I would have liked it to move the story a bit further than it did. Some of the plot in the book I found unnessesary, fx. when they went out with supplies to people in the dessert, and with very few people to protect them. Anyways, I really liked the characters Xiri, Phan-tu and Gella, and is looking forward to read more stories with them :-) Also, I agree with you about the plot-surprise. I didn't see that comming.

I decided for 2024 to read more books and chose to read Star Wars Cannon line from the beginning. This was the first book I tackled. I enjoyed this book. I am excited to push further on into this book series.

I've been reading the High Republic adult novels and young adult novels and I've just finished Convergence. Really enjoyed it, loved Axel thought he was so funny. My one disappointment was that we got no mention on Marda.

I feel the pacing was very awkward. Looking at part 3 thinking I’m near the end but had a few hours left in the audiobook. It felt like it could’ve ended there, I’m glad it didn’t but still. Zoraida Cordova’s style is probably my favorite of the HR authors and I did like the direction being more character driven. I was just expecting more of a bombastic 1st adult novel for phase 2. Better than Fallen Star tbh.

I have been struggling to get through this book. It kind've drags for me. I enjoy it and then it stalls. It doesn't help that it is so predictable and that makes me bored because the specifics won't be impactful enough to stick the landing. Thank goodness it's a library book. I'm gonna give it a final try this weekend so I can read the other books but I'm not interested in fallout and sad endings.

This is the first time that a High Republic felt like a chore / homework. After Path of Deceit this felt like a real drag. I have the paperback for about 2 weeks now and I'm still only halfway through it. Where PoD was read in just 2 days.
