Hi. Thanks for posting this. I followed your instructions and tested my coil. I got a steady 2.6/2.7 for primary but only 5.5 for the secondary. Would this low number be enought to prevent the car starting. It started fine yesterday after a months lay up but today just won't spark up. Thanks

Thank you. So for testing voltage to the coil, is it as simple as using the multimeter between the positive post and a ground? I have a car, 1977 MGB, it's supposed to have wire resistance to run at 9 volts, but I have 13.5 volts (looks like the wiring has been altered). I installed an external resistor and I am not getting a voltage drop.
The coil and distributor are original specs. Thanks

So i got a mercruiser and when motor is hot i think thats when it fails cause boat runs awful and stalls out then when i let it fool it starts and runs fine again until its warm how do i test it?

Checked my coil primary was 0.4 ohms. Secondary was just 1 ohm. Coil is very old of a. 924 porche I think it has blown

Gor some reason I get 0 ohms on my coils on primary side. But they work. I wonder if its my meter or is it really 0 when it should be about 3.
If it is really 0, why would that be?

Alright so I just tested mine (randomly lost all spark). My primary was 0.3k and my secondary were 2.39k. I’m guessing this thing is dead? Lol

The first test on 200 at 1:05 shows 0.20. This looks out of range to me on my car coil
