Why isn’t this channel more popular? This is the kind of video the internet was made for. Bravo

Woah, this was so informative! What an underrated video, definitely sharing this with my astronomy class

Surprised that a gas planet, which I would imagine is a lot less density than a rocky planet would have that much gravity force.

Thank you for this awesome video! I really wasnt sure how planets made of gas worked but now I understand that's their atmosphere.

The only reason I'm here is that because my teacher is teaching me about planets,
btw good video

thank you so much, I am starting to make a lot of projects in astronomy for both programming and maybe making my own videos so this is really useful

This is great! Where did you get the visuals? Did you make them yourself?

Nice video, but I do got to say one thing the way how you described how gas planets formed was through the core accretion model(started with solid core then gathered gas). But there is also a disk instability model(fluctuations in gas disk around a star created dense pockets of gas which then gathered more gas). They both have their problems and we don't know which one is true(though the core accretion model is the predominant one) but I think the disk instability model was worth a mention(though this is more of a suggestion than a problem, the video was great).

Ive heard Jupiter and Saturn being referred to as Gas Giants does that mean there is no solid mass there just gas ? And if so whats stopping them from just expanding till there's nothing left ?

But how, do gases hold in globes? What keeps them from being swallowed by the vacuum of space?

If they are gas giants, how can they be classified as planets?
