DCS: F-16C Viper | JSOW

In this video, we’ll look at the AGM-154A Joint Standoff Off Weapon, or JSOW, for the Viper. The JSOW is un unpowered glide bomb that weighs approximately a thousand pounds. It has a range to up to 70 miles range, based on launch altitude and airspeed. It is a fire-and-forget weapon that uses INS and GPS to reach its designated target.

It can be loaded on stations 3 and 7 as either singles or pairs using a BRU-57 smart rack.

The A model includes 145 BLU-97A combined effects bomb submunitions, which are ideal when attacking unarmored and lightly armored units. It is not though designed though to destroy heavily armored units like a main battle tank. While there are also B and C versions, the United States Air Force only operates the A version.

Key commands:
Set SPI - Target Management Switch (TMS) Up: Right Ctrl + Arrow Up
Set SOI Between Displays – Display Management Switch (DMS) Down: Right Alt + .
Set SOI to HUD – Display Management Switch (DMS) Up: Right Alt + ;
Weapon Release: Right Alt + Space

Can’t wait to have the area right next to my target be absolutely obliterated.

Great video! Another tip is that if you use the HAD sensor for HARMs, you can get a SPI with PRGM2 when targeting enemy radar sites, and release a JSOW. It’s fairly accurate, and allows you to keep your standoff at high altitudes. Finally, it also lets you conserve your HARMs for the biggest radar sites, such as S-300/S-400.

Death and destruction." The F16 is beginning to show more than a glimmer of its versatility in the DCS environment, that's for sure.

Amazing Wags! I'm very happy that Viper gets love. Still, I'm looking more additional functionality to systems thought.

I almost overlooked this video because the thumbnail was nearly identical to the JDAM video… and then I realized it said JSOW and then I nearly jumped out of my seat.

Hopefully the HTS gets implemented soon as well 😁

Looking forward to the next patch. Currently learning weapons on the F16 and never thought I’d say this but it’s really becoming my number 1 aircraft lol sorry Hornet I still love you xx. I really like that over 50% of staff are working on the Viper now too. Can we please have moving weather as it dose effect a lot of factors. Great work Dynamics

4:20 Matt, when we launch 2 💣 together we know that the “space impact” is the distance between 2 JSOW 💣 considering the SPI at the center right?

But these 💣 do not fall whole to the ground (such as JDAM), but open in the air in clusters. Therefore the “space impact” is calculated from the center of 1st 💣💣💣 💣 to the center of 2nd or simply the distance between 2 JSOW 💣 in the air?

I hope it is clear I, m 🇮🇹🙏👍

Thanks for the video. It's great that ED have resources to make progress in the Viper development while still finishing Hornet (I hope). Speaking of Hornet wanted to ask: would it be possible to create short video describing radar RAID modes for the Hornet: SCAN RAID, 1LOOK RAID, SAM introduced recently (maybe along with some other upcoming changes for the Hornet) ? They are not documented very well, I'd really appreciate that if you have time for / it's worth working on that for you of course. Thanks again.
