Megalopolis - Poland's massive infrastructure project | Paweł Wojciechowski

The Central Transport Hub is a massive infrastructure project which aims at developing high-speed rail , developing regional airports, building the new Baranów Hub by 2032, developing LOT Polish Airlines and expanding the fleet to 135 planes.

Now while that all sounds rosy, the project has also been heavily criticized and even politicized, with the current government opposing the project in their electoral campaign. However, they are coming around to the idea and will make adjustments to the strategic plan. To unpack the merits of the Central Transport Hub and the new approach led by Donald Tusk’s government, TVP World invited Professor Paweł Wojciechowski, former Polish finance minister.

I think these plans are a good example of forward thinking. Connecting Mariupol to Poland and Europe, with high speed rail, will make for much more effjcient logistics during the reconstruction of Ukraine, sfter the war. As well, trade will increase with Europe.
