Sabbath School with Author Mark Finley | Lesson 5 Q2 - 2023

Sabbath School lesson is one of the world-wide lessons studied by Seventh-day Adventist Church members for quarter two of 2023. The adult Bible study lesson for this second quarter was written by Pastor Mark Finley. I love that the throne room scene is brought out in this lesson. It was seen by Daniel and by John. It's clearly a courtroom scene. God the Father is judge. Christ as depicted by the lamb is our advocate(lawyer). Personally, I think the 24 elders are the jury, and the 4 creatures represent those who are being judged, from the beginning of time until the close of probation. The reason I think the 24 elders are the jury is because they wear crowns and white robes, which indicate they have been redeemed from the earth already. That gives them the authority to be on the jury.

Dear Pr Finley,
In the sabbath school this was mentioned
“Who are these 24 elders? In ancient Israel there were 24 divisions in the Levitical priesthood. These priests represented the people before God. In 1 Peter 2:9, the apostle declares that New Testament believers are a “chosen generation, a royal priesthood.” These 24 elders could, perhaps, represent all the redeemed that one day will rejoice around the throne of God; or, perhaps, they represent the people resurrected at Christ’s resurrection, who ascended to heaven with Him (Matt. 27:52; Eph. 4:7, 8).”
We’ve had a few discussions on the topic of the identity of the 24 elders based on revelation 4 5. While in the lesson you clearly explained how the 24 elders are from earth some people in our church disagree and believe that they are unfallen beings from other worlds, and they claim that prophecy says that. Are you able to confirm whether they 24 elders are people from this earth or are the from unfallen foreign land?

Elder, Rodney Smith from Bermuda .You have gone to great length to stress the Fear God means to reverence God .In The Present Truth Vol 1, No.9 April 1850 " The Third Angel's Message, . by James White says, " Repent for the hour ( time ) of His judgment has come ". There has to be a call from sin when we say to Fear God . Exodus 20:20
