King and Queen Lay Wreath at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

King Charles and Queen Camilla paid their respects by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Altare della Patria, Rome’s large national monument to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of a unified Italy. The royals enjoyed renditions of the British and Italian national anthems played by military bands at the monument.

The "unknown soldier grave" has a special part in our history. He died in the 1ww, while fighting on the alps.... I really appreciated the visit of the King of England and the Qeen to this monument. Marco

Glad for their visit to Italy as Europe needs to be more United. I found funny the comment by King Charles of the Romans brief visit. Britain was the Roman given name and province. London was founded by the Romans (Londinium) and Britain was part of the Roman Empire for almost 400 years.
