In the south, where Russia has made more progress, residents of Odessa, a polyglot Black Sea port of 1 million people, fear their city could be invaded. They formed a human chain on Monday, singing patriotic songs as they carried sandbags from the beach. FRANCE 24's Gwendoline Debono reports from Odessa, Ukraine.

The DPR/LPR will be recruiting in the captured areas. Mariopal is mostly captured now it's more of a mop up and once that Domino falls logistics will be much easier for the Russians. Kharkiv will face increased pressure and once the battle is over the East will be taken and recruitment of the East Ukraine forces loyal to Russia will pick up steam
