I tell you, I cried SOBBED from the moment hangar 12 doors opened until the D warped away, hearing Majel's voice, oh my god, it was lovely.

As serious as an episode that this was, it brings me so much joy to see different reviewers of this episode laugh with glee about it.

The 1701-D was my generations Enterprise. To see her back in all her glory is … emotional to say the least. The galaxy class enterprise (to me anyway) is a symbol of hope, curiosity, and peace. It is fitting to see her used in this way to save the new generation in the show and inspire the younger generation in our world the way it did for those of us who grew up with TNG. The parallel of collective authoritarianism in any form and its influence on young minds is not lost on me either, but that could just be a plot device to allow the TNG crew to save the day as a full team. I’ve heard rumors that the cast didn’t want this kind of send off, but as a fan who grew up with them gracing my tv screen on TNN and SciFy every chance I got growing up, I can only say: Thank You!

Love Ric's squee at seeing the Enterprise-F in all her canonical glory.

I'm under the impression that Vadic and her Changelings were simply out for revenge with no thought given to the consequences for themselves and/or the Dominion. If handing the galaxy over to the Borg Collective brings down the Federation, then so be it.

Hats off to them for recreating the bridge set, since the original one was torn down to make room for Voyager.

When I first saw the return of the 1701 D, I reacted by saying something along the lines of "it wasn't a real TNG reunion without her, was it? Now it is."

I think the “Captain Picard” thing is actually a backwards developed joke. Apparently Majel’s voice wasn’t AI generated, but instead the audio of the computer acknowledging the command transfer to “Captain Picard” is lifted from a deleted scene from Chain of Command where Jellico would have handed the Enterprise back.

Knowing they had that audio, I reckon they wrote a running gag into the series where various characters call Picard “Captain” and then made this scene’s response “I’ll accept the field demotion” the punchline.

I'm happy to see the 1701D back and am super happy to see a ship interior that has proper lighting 😂

Honestly, the Borg would see the founders as the ultimate form of perfection. Individuals yet as one when together.

That giddy laugh was amazing. And the same one I did when I watched the episode.

I’m just glad someone finally found the bloody light switch! I know I sound like an old man, but it’s a miracle modern Starfleet can see well enough to operate in near darkness on their ships. I suppose lighting must come at a premium in the 25th century.

When I seen that Enterprise D my heart jumped she was always ahead of her time an I just hope they don't destroy it again.

A little late to the party, but just in case no one else has caught or mentioned this here, in the fleet at Earth are also Earhart and Alita Class ships from STO.

Also, something that almost everyone didn’t notice, the Alita class, direct successor of the Akira is finally canon.

I’ve been waiting for your review of this episode and I’m tickled that you’re tickled by both enterprise’s and yes I was clapping hard when I saw both enterprise’s and I’m a sucker for music and I have to point out the music for when the enterprise D appeared and then warped…… ahhh I love good dramatic music with a satisfying finish
